For first-time users

Please restart or power down your phone and turn it back on after installing the software. Data from the target phone typically takes about 30 minutes to appear in your control panel. Ensure you have 3G or 4G Internet access on the target phones; otherwise, no data will be sent to your control panel. Data is sent out every 30 minutes from target phones to your control panel. Ensure that no security programs are running on your phones that block outgoing Internet connections. It works with Android 2.2, Android 2.3, and Android 4.0, which comprise about 97% of Android Phones currently in use. If you are running an earlier version of Android, such as 2.1, it will not work. It will not work on 1% of phones that have been rooted by users who have altered their Android OS. If, for some reason, you have not received data after a couple of hours, you can check to see if the app is running as shown below. If it is running, the phone is not sending out data due to a connection problem. Check your 3G or 4G connection to ensure it is working correctly. You can turn on Wi-Fi on your phone if it's available and see if data gets sent out after an hour. If you are concerned about a child removing this software from your phone, you can download a free locking app, such as App Lock or Smart App Lock, to prevent deinstallation without your permission.

Click on the Forgot Password button and enter your username or email address, and your password will be sent to the email you used to create your account. The IMEI number can be found behind the battery on the phone, or you can access it by going to "About Phone" under the Settings menu.

I forgot the username/email address I used to create an account.

We cannot help you with that. You will need to make a new account. Please note that if you create an account and do not log in within 7 days after installation, we will automatically cancel the account.

How do I know software is running on my phone?

After installing the app, go to Apps > Settings > Application Manager > Running or Apps > Settings > Running Services. Please scroll down to the MyPhones icon under running apps and ensure it has started running. Please scroll down to the MyPhones icon under running apps and ensure it has started running. A screen will show up with the Title of the Active App. This screen shows you that the software is running correctly on the phone. If it is not running, remove the battery from the phone, then reinsert it and restart the device, as this method works to restart all Android Phones.

How do I add additional phones to my account?

To add phones to your account, use the same username and password you used to create your original account when installing the software on those phones. For more information on My Phones, please visit MyPhones.app if needed.

How do I change the name associated with the phone in my account?

Go to Device Options, go to Rename Device, and you can change the name in the drop-down box to any name you want by hitting Save Device Name. You can name the device after the target phone's phone number or the child's name, so it is easier to keep track of multiple phones in the account.

I want to uninstall the software.

Go to either Settings>Application Manager>Downloaded Apps or Settings>Applications>Manage Applications and click the Phone Tracker icon. A page will appear where you should click the Force Stop button, then select the Uninstall button, and finally confirm that you want to uninstall the software. When the phone prompts you to hit OK to uninstall software, do so, and the software will be uninstalled. You will see one more screen telling you that the software has been removed, and then click OK. Shut off the phone at that point and then restart. You can check to see if it is uninstalled by going to Settings > Application Manager > Downloaded Apps or Settings > Applications > Manage Applications to ensure it is not listed.

I am having problems getting GPS readings.

Ensure that GPS is turned on for your phone. Go to Settings > Location or Settings > Location and Security, and ensure that you have at least Google Location Services and Verizon Location Services checked, if you are using Verizon. You may need to adjust other GPS settings depending on your carrier.

I am having problems logging in and have previously been in the control panel.

We cancel accounts if there are no logins for any 7 days. Since these are free accounts, we cannot maintain inactive accounts. We will also cancel an account if no data is entered into the control panel for 7 days. If no data is being sent to the account, we will alert your control panel to notify you which phone is not sending data, so you can resolve the issue or remove the phone from the account.

I am having trouble adding a phone to the account, as it indicates that I already have five phones.
